01
Create a task-and-skill matrix
List recurring tasks by discipline and mark whether the technician is expected to inspect, adjust, repair, replace, assist or escalate. Include asset types, limits and the employer procedure that controls each task.
Avoid describing a worker as electrical, plumbing, HVAC and civil support without stating what those words mean at the actual site.
- Asset or system
- Permitted task
- Required experience or evidence
- Tools and authorization
- Escalation boundary
02
Separate basic and specialist work
Define the basic inspections, minor adjustments and approved replacements included in the role. Keep regulated, high-risk, energized, pressurized, refrigerant, controls-programming or other specialist tasks within the applicable competent and authorized discipline.
The employer's safe system of work and permit process remain controlling even when a technician has broad experience.
03
Map assets, shifts and response priorities
Provide the asset list, property zones, planned maintenance windows, helpdesk hours and expected emergency or after-hours response. Separate fixed posts from mobile or multi-site coverage.
State how breaks, relief and night escalation are covered and which faults require immediate specialist attendance.
04
Set competence and authorization checks
Identify the experience, technical interview, trade test, document checks and site authorization needed for each task family. A single certificate or job title should not be treated as proof of every listed skill.
Verification must follow the current employer and applicable Saudi process for the role and worksite.
05
Define work orders and supervision
Explain how work is assigned, prioritized, approved and closed. Include condition findings, materials used, outstanding risks, follow-up trade requirements and the person who accepts completion.
Name the facilities supervisor and specialist escalation contacts so the technician does not cross an unclear authority boundary.
06
Send a matrix-based employer brief
Provide the Jeddah site, assets, task matrix, technician quantity, shifts, duration and mandatory evidence. Confirm transport, tools, test equipment, uniforms, PPE, permits, induction and supervision responsibilities.
Final role fit, availability and dates are confirmed only after the full matrix and applicable requirements are reviewed.
