01
Define the inventory environment
List warehouses, stores, stockrooms, production areas or fixed-asset locations included in the count. Provide location codes, access restrictions, operating hours and whether normal movement stops during counting.
Separate sellable stock, consumables, returns, damaged goods, consignment items and fixed assets where their count rules differ.
02
Choose the count method
State whether the work uses blind counts, sheets, labels, handheld scanners, system tasks or paired counting. Define who creates count batches, controls progress and releases completed locations.
Provide rules for open cartons, units of measure, sealed pallets, serial numbers and inaccessible stock before the shift begins.

- Batch-control owner
03
Set access and data boundaries
Specify user accounts, device issue, permitted system screens and the information staff may see or change. Counting staff should not approve adjustments or valuation unless the employer assigns that authority separately.
Use individual access where required and an immediate process for a lost device, incorrect location or suspected data issue.
04
Plan recount and variance handling
Define when a second count is triggered, who performs it and who reviews the variance. Keep original counts, recounts and final adjustment approval distinct for audit clarity.
Staff should record physical observations without inventing item codes or changing stock records outside the authorized process.
05
Build the shift and supervision plan
Estimate teams by location count, item complexity, access and required completion window. Include team leaders, device support, breaks, night transport and handover for unfinished sections.
Brief staff on pedestrian and material-handling routes, especially when warehouse operations continue nearby.
06
Send a count-ready staffing request
Provide the Jeddah locations, item groups, count method, system or scanner, worker quantities, shift times and dates. Confirm transport, devices, training, access, PPE and supervision responsibilities.
Availability and team composition are confirmed only after the full count plan and employer requirements are reviewed.
